Trichomes are specialized structures derived from epidermal cells. Apart providing protection to plants, trichomes source of medicinally important compounds. Although genes involved in initiation and patterning have been characterized some plants like Arabidopsis thaliana, but our knowledge about the development these is still limited. Recent studies confirm role different transcription factors trichome plants. In model plant factor families studied detail. It has found that bHLH, R2R3 MYB form an activation complex with TTG1 which initiate formation while as R3 type inhibit complex.
